This is a good price and a good device. It plays videos and also DVDs. While there are several things missing from the features list and the manual shows many limitations it does what you want it to. I have had no trouble with my cassettes, even the old ones (for which I bought this device). DVD playback is simple and is lead by an on screen display. Bear in mind that the device may have trouble with a few discs. I have yet to try any homemade DVDs but when I do I will update.
All in all, a good DVD player and a great VCR. Best of both ages and a good price.
