Sony Walkman Digital Tuning Weather FM/AM Stereo Cassette Player (Silver) Review

This is the same item as the FX-290, now with a W added. Only difference is the absence of the TV audio band, which will be irrelevent next February. I ve had three of these walkmans in the past couple of years. One shattered upon impact to the ground. I didn't have the case on it, and with the other two the fast forward button, which I use quite a bit fell off.

That being said, this is probably the greatest walkman I ve owned. The radio cassette player is a dying breed and I m glad to see Sony put out a new version of an old favorite. With 35 hours on one AA battery, this is one of the great values. I still have hundreds of cassette tapes that I have taped from XM the last couple of years, and I still take my walks listening to those. Transferring to a CD is an option,but its too much of a bother. With the belt clip its so easy to just walk listening to a cassette, even though the sound quality is not as good as a CD,but it fits my purposes fine.

With AM and FM and all the presets, and a weather band this is a nice value for $30 and free shipping. I m glad I still have my other two units without the fast forward button. This is becoming a relic, and I want to make sure I have this walkman for some time to come. No MP3 for me. I m satisfied with this unit.

Jensen CD-540 Portable Stereo Compact Disc Cassette Recorder with AM/FM Radio Review

The controls on this player looked flimsy and cheap right out of the box. The volume spinner was practically falling off. For the cassette player there is a separate button for stop and eject and they are on opposite sides. Counterintuitive to almost all other players out there.

And the cassette player chewed up a beloved tape the first time we used it. Worthless piece of junk!

Crosley Radio CR2413A-PA Memory Master II CD Recorder/USB (Paprika) Review

If you are looking for an all in one turntable with good PC connectivity options this would be perfect for you.

I have been looking at the Crosley line for some time.Mainly because of their well built and retro cabinets.

The built in speakers render a good sound quality.

Like all all in one units they are not designed to be tha absolute in perfection.But for a person like me that wanted a simple, nice looking ubit that I could connect to my PC to record my extensive vynl collection it is perfect.

I currently connect thriugh both USB and to the line in in my sound card.The line in allows me to use my PC speakers if I want and the USB allows for better recording.I also have the option of just using the speakers in the unit itself.

The software provided is easy to uses and the USB recording is of good quality.

The CD recorder does a very good transfer of the music, however if you are connecting it to your computer you can enhance the repordings for bettter quality.

The picture displayed here is incorrect.The speaker grills are black, not silver.Crosley changed the colors and never updated their pictures.The black speaker grills are more impressive than the silver.

The cabinet is solidly made from wood and adds to it's character.

The lid can be solidly closed while playing the alblums which is a consideration if you have cats that are entranced by the spinning records lol

Coby CX-R122 Micro Cassette Recorder Review

I've had a couple of these microcassette players, and generally they do the work but fall apart too quickly.

This one, however is a bit more solid in the construction.The unit is easy to operate, the pieces seem a lot tougher than other comparatively priced models, and the sound quality is pretty decent.

I'd highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a mini-recorder, for music, meetings or just some quick ideas.

All the features work well in this tiny machine.Sound quality is good and we like the manual dials and switches rather than digital/automated features because we feel it gives us better control.One drawback is the lack of volume control on the remote, but if you have the player set up the way you want it before you play, this shouldn't be a problem. If you use this in America, MAKE SURE the 110V / 220V switch on the bottom of the unit is set to 110V.Otherwise the CD player won't work.(This is in the manual, but not as obvious as you would expect.) This comes with a dual plug so it's ready to use in countries that use 220V (like in Europe) or 110 V (like in the USA).

Unirex RX-949MP Portable Stereo CD Player With Radio Cassette Recorder Review

I've bought this CD player today ( through my school) and couldn't wait to start using it, especially because of a remote control that goes with it.( It would help me a lot since I am a music teacher). But the disk didn't spin at first. When finally it started spinning, the quality of the sound was terrible, and finally it stopped spinning again.It spins sometimes : out of 10 times that I've tried to have it started it started spinning only 3 times.The remote control has only limited functions: back, stop/pause, forward and the numbers of the songs ( 1-10). There is no power control ( on/off) and no dynamics control ( louder- softer). I am very dissappinted in this product and want to return as soon as possible.
